Philippines

The year started off quite well :— with a trip to the Philippines after finding well-priced tickets with Turkish Airlines.

First stop was the island of Bohol, where we admired the Chocolate Hills, made friends with tarsiers, cruised along the Loboc River, and enjoyed walks on beautiful beaches.

Then we flew to Palawan. There, we went island hopping in El Nido and sampled the delicious food offered by local restaurants. Number one was Baracuda. Of course, there were more beach walks and time to simply enjoy the surroundings.

Next, we traveled by van to Puerto Princesa. Unfortunately, due to bad weather, our trip to the Underground River National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature — was cancelled. So we definitely need to come back.

Then it was time to head home. On the way, we had a few-hour layover in Manila, which we used to explore the city. In the evening, we flew via Istanbul and Vienna back to Kraków.
